We continue to expand our local VHF packet network using Kantronics KPC+'s as small BBS's and digipeaters for the backbone. The purpose is to maintain reliable communication within our local areas without being reliant on modes that depend on the internet.
This system runs 24/7 and is accessed daily by local users that use soundcard programs to check in for bulletins and packet email. The weekly AmRRON AIB is entered into the network regularly.
If you live in the Central Alabama area and are packet capable then give the SEEN Packet Network a try.
We are on 145.010
Connect to KC4SIG-1 for the main BBS with KN4DUT-1, or N4WXI-1 operating as backup systems. Also, all of the above using -7 in place of -1 will allow you to use them as a digipeater.
